Beautiful Day

The sun is shining here in Norfolk and the birds are singing.  It is simply glorious outside and a good day for being creative.  The loom is warped and I have started a new project with browns and creams which I am eager to continue.

I have been looking at some of my previously woven textiles and will be sewing them up shortly into garments and scarves.  I like to let the colours and textures ‘grow’ on me before deciding on the  final application for each material.  Whether it will be worn or made into an accessory for personal use or for the home.  The one below I think I will make into a shrug for the summer – pictures to follow.

During the summer I also have a window seat which will need to be covered and I am looking at various styles and patterns of weaving from all over the world including Mexico, Andes and Guartemala to inspire me for the final fabric.  I will let you know more in future posts!

The spinning wheel has some lovely bright colours on it ready for the next project – perhaps a little blanket for my grandson, Dexter.  We had such fun at The Ancient House, Thetford, yesterday for our spinning circle.  We meet every other week and enjoy spinning, chatting and learning in beautful historic surroundings, a real treat!

Well the coffee is finished so I had better get stuck in to my creations!
